10月23日，当地时间，孔子雕像在俄罗斯喀山联邦大学完成。
孔子雕像高约2.5米，站在喀山联邦大学图书馆对面的校园里，这象征着中国和俄罗斯之间的交流和对话。 2007年，喀山联邦大学和湖南师范大学共同成立了孔子学院。喀山联邦大学校长萨菲恩说，孔子雕像的揭幕是“所有年龄段的著名老师”，在金砖四国峰会期间是象征性的。他希望以孔子和儒家为代表的东方哲学可以促进国家之间的文化交流，建立共识并共同促进发展。

喀山联邦大学成立于1804年，并于1837年成立了俄罗斯第一家中国教学机构。该大学始终保持中国教学和中国文化研究的传统。目前，有2,000多名中国学生正在喀山联邦大学学*，该学校约有1,000名学生正在学*中文。
