翻译过程中稍不留神，我们就可能会犯些想当然的错误，本文举些例子分析下我们实践中易犯的一些错误。
同一单词或词组本身有相反的意思
比如as of，这个词组经常被翻译为：截至（某个时间点）止（常见于财报附注）和自（某个时间点）起，这两个意思是完全相反的，所以翻译的时候必须看上下文，翻译出来的意思要符合上下文逻辑。实例：
原文：In order to protect Personally Identifiable Information, as of August 17, 2009, FBI policy has changed to no longer return the fingerprint cards.
原译文：为了保护个人身份信息，截至2009年08月17日，FBI政策已经更改，不再退还指纹卡。
修改后：为了保护个人身份信息，自2009年08月17日起，FBI政策已改，不再退还指纹卡。
语序翻译错误导致意思相反
中英语序的差别众所周知，但是翻译过程中的不良惯性思维会让我们疏于纠正。实例：
Collection of evaporated solvent for environmental protection is advised.
原译文：建议收集用于环境保护的蒸发溶剂。
修改后：建议收集蒸发出来的溶剂，以保护环境。
这里蒸发出来的溶剂可不是什么保护环境的产品，恰恰相反，这东西污染环境，所以要收集起来，免得污染了环境。
直译导致的Chinglish
我们日常会有什么“因为时间有限”或者“如果时间方便”这样的表达，其实潜在的意思是：时间不够、我有时间。所以翻译的时候要避免直译。
实例1：
原文：今天关于性别意识监测系统的培训让我们受益匪浅，但是因为时间有限，关于这个系统的填制细节，我们PMO的成员还需要进一步学*，如果您时间方便的话，可以发给我培训的PPT和相关的填写规范吗？
原译文：Today's training on gender awareness monitoring system has benefited us a lot. However, due to the limited time, our PMO members need to learn more about the details of this system. If your time is convenient, can you send me the PPT for training and related filling specifications?
修改后：Today's training on gender-sensitive awareness monitoring system has benefited us a lot. However, as we don't have much time on the training, our PMO members need to study further about the details of filling in this system. If it does not trouble you, could you send me the PPT for training and related filling instructions?
实例2：
原文：积极开展“青年文明号手”创建活动，组织青年志愿者活动，配合工会开展“巾帼文明示范岗”的创建。
原译文：Actively carry out the creation activities of "Youth Civilization Trumpeter", organize youth volunteer activities, and cooperate with the trade union in the creation of "Women Civilization Demonstration Post".
修改后：Develop activities to select "Youth Model", arrange youth to work as volunteers in some activities, and cooperate with the Trade Union to select outstanding women who perform very well at their posts.
第二个例子中的“文明”二字是我们经常碰到的，其实也是特别具有中国特色的词。但是相对应的英文可并不总是civilization的各种形式。真相是，像“青年文明号手”和“巾帼文明示范岗”这种活动，无非就是评出那个特别优秀的人，表彰出来，给大家做榜样，所以绝对不能直译，翻成杰出、优秀的人就好。类似的还有什么“文明施工”，也不是“civilized construction”，而是表示这种施工符合安健环规定或者施工标准，所以可以翻译为“HSE-compliant construction”，或者“procedural and standardized construction”。
忽视了语境、褒贬
要分清稿件用途，究竟是在说怎样严肃的事情。实例：
The product is not fitted with shutters giving access to live parts.
该产品没有安装便于接触带电部件的遮板。
该产品没有安装遮板，会碰到带电部件。
这是一份出口召回文件中的内容。没有哪个厂家敢作死制造“方便触电”的产品。这个产品之所以被召回，是因为产品有缺陷，容易让人碰到带电的位置。但是产品的初衷肯定不是为了“便于触电”。
以上只是几种常见的英文错译。翻译是个细致活，大家在实践中多多总结体会，相信会越翻越好。（文/黄亚银）
