一.作形容词
这是“such”最常见的用法，用来修饰名词或名词词组，起到强调作用，使用时需注意名词的单复数以及是否有不定冠词：
● 修饰单数可数名词：与不定冠词 “a” 或 “an” 连用时，结构为 “such + a/an + 形容词 + 单数可数名词”。
“He is such a clever boy that he can solve difficult problems quickly.”（他是如此聪明的一个男孩，以至于能快速解决难题。）
“It's such an interesting book that I can't put it down.”（这是如此有趣的一本书，我简直爱不释手。）
“She has such a sweet voice that everyone likes to listen to her singing.”（她有如此甜美的嗓音，每个人都喜欢听她唱歌。）
● 修饰复数可数名词：结构为 “such + 形容词 + 可数名词复数”。
“There are such beautiful butterflies in the garden that children are very excited.”（花园里有如此漂亮的蝴蝶，孩子们非常兴奋。）
“We saw such tall buildings in the city center.”（我们在市中心看到了如此高大的建筑。）
“They told us such funny stories that we all laughed.”（他们给我们讲了如此有趣的故事，我们都笑了。）
● 修饰不可数名词：结构为 “such +（可省去的）形容词 + 不可数名词”。
“He showed such great courage in the face of danger.”（他在危险面前表现出了如此大的勇气。）
“We have such heavy traffic during rush hours.”（高峰时段交通如此拥堵。）
“She has such strong determination to achieve her goal.”（她有如此坚定的决心去实现自己的目标。）
此外，“such”常放在不定冠词之前，“all”“many”“no”“any”“one”“few”“some”等之后，但其前不可用 “many of”“some of”“all of” 等。关于这个问题，另外成文介绍。
二.作代词
可用来表示单数，也可表示复数，在句中多用作主语或表语，具体如下：
● 作指示代词：引用或强调之前提到的事物。
“He is always ready to help others. Such is his nature.”（他总是乐于帮助别人，这就是他的本性。）
“The weather was really bad last week. Such was the situation we had to face.”（上周天气真的很糟糕，这就是我们当时不得不面对的情况。）
“She has a strong sense of responsibility. Such is what makes her popular among her colleagues.”（她有很强的责任感，这就是她在同事中受欢迎的原因。）
● 作替代代词：避免重复。
“Some people like reading novels, while such aren't my cup of tea.”（有些人喜欢读小说，而这类东西不合我的口味。）
“Many students enjoy outdoor activities, but such are not suitable for everyone.”（很多学生喜欢户外活动，但这类活动并不适合每个人。）
“Some animals are very good at camouflage. Such can easily escape from predators.”（有些动物很擅长伪装，这类动物很容易从捕食者那里逃脱。）
● 作限定代词：描述特定类型事物，常与 “as” 连用。
“Such as you mentioned are very valuable in the market.”（像你提到的那种东西在市场上很有价值。）
“Such as he described are difficult to find in this area.”（像他描述的那种东西在这个地区很难找到。）
“Such as she recommended are worth trying.”（像她推荐的那种东西值得一试。）
三.构成固定搭配
● such...as...：表示“像……一样的……”。其中 “such” 是形容词，后接名词；“as” 可以作为连词或介词，作连词时可以引导定语从句，在从句中可以充当主语、宾语、表语。 “I have never seen such beautiful paintings as these in the exhibition.”（我在展览中从未见过像这些一样漂亮的画作。）
“He has read such books as are about science fiction.”（他读过像那些关于科幻的书籍。）
“We should avoid making such mistakes as he did last time.”（我们应该避免犯像他上次那样的错误。）
● such as：是复合连词/连词宾语，意为“诸如……的”，用来列举事物。
“There are many fruits in the supermarket, such as apples, bananas and oranges.”（超市里有很多水果，诸如苹果、香蕉和橙子。）
“Some countries in Europe, such as France, Italy and Spain, are very popular among tourists.”（欧洲的一些国家，诸如法国、意大利和西班牙，在游客中很受欢迎。）
“He likes different kinds of sports, such as basketball, football and tennis.”（他喜欢不同种类的运动，诸如篮球、足球和网球。）
●such...that...：常引导结果状语从句，表示“如此……以致”。
“The problem is such that no one can solve it easily.”（这个问题如此难，以至于没有人能轻易解决它。）
“The noise outside was such that I couldn't fall asleep.”（外面的噪音如此大，以至于我无法入睡。）
“The movie is such that it has attracted a large number of audiences.”（这部电影如此精彩，以至于吸引了大量的观众。）
